[News] Official ICS starts rolling out for Galaxy Note! (About Time!)
The Galaxy Note is currently in the process of being updated to ICS! This is an exciting event, but also a very depressing time! Samsung has taken forever!! to roll out the update! There has been many obstacles in the way of Samsung releasing that update! But finally it has started rolling out. Read on for more info!
If you have been a Samsung fan for quite a while, you would know that Sammy generally pushes out its OS updates on a per region-by-region basis, meaning that certain countries will begin to see the update appearing before others. The update is being pushed out Over-the-air and is also reported being 319MB in size. So far Germany has reported that the update is available to download through the Samsung Kies software and we have heard Singapore is also in the works currently.
Owners who have started to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update are reporting that the version number is 4.0.3, which was compiled on May 4th. Once you have received the update, owners should benefit from Samsung’s Premium Suite of apps, which you can watch a video down below. Premium Suite brings with it the updated versions of S Note, S Memo and My Story apps, which users can benefit from the luxury of being able to produce engaging creations through the use of the new software.
There is currently no confirmed date on when Ice Cream Sandwich will be released out in NZ, but I have posted a comment on Samsung Mobile’s wall through Facebook but still haven’t got a reply yet.
If you are an owner of the Galaxy Note and haven’t got a notification on the update, don’t be depressed just yet as the update could take a few weeks for Samsung to cover all users across the globe. Also keep in mind that if you purchased your Note from a network provider, you should get the update before the rest do as Samsung and the network provider both have a schedule to agree on before releasing it. Have you got your ICS update for the Note yet? Let us know in the comments down below!
