[News] What devices will get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean?
Jelly Bean Android 4.1 |
It has just been over one month since the official announcement of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The mobile operating system’s source code has been released a couple of weeks back already, so it makes sense for us to believe that “Jelly Bean” updates should be following? Well we have a list (quite a short one though as not many manufacturers have confirmed with the media..) of smartphones officially confirmed to receive the new Jelly Bean update and another list of those that we assume will get the update.
But before we get down to the list, don’t get your hopes up too high on thinking that the Jelly Bean update will come right up to your doorstep tomorrow morning ready for your device! As we all know, the road from an OS update becoming open source to it actually hitting the most popular devices around is a very bumpy one! So no wonder the list of devices that are confirmed on getting Jelly Bean, is quite small. No timeframe has also been given as of yet.
The only devices that are already running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean are the three Nexus devices: Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 tablet, and the most recent one to receive it – Nexus S.
