[News] Apparently, iPhone 5 will feature a 8-pin Dock Connector and maybe a Sync-Up with Bluetooth 4
Reportedly iPhone 5 with 8-pin Dock Connector |
Recently, we have heard from reports that the iPhone 5 and future iPads will have a 19-pin Dock Connector that will replace the existing 30-pin connectors. Apparently not. iLounge claims that Apple will put in an amazingly small 8-pin dock connector instead.
iLounge had said in a report on Wednesday,
“Although the original Dock Connector contained 30 pins, reports of 16- or 19-pin connectors seemed hard to square with the port’s small size and Apple’s actual need for additional pins beyond what USB/Micro-USB offer,”
The site also claims that Apple may change the name of ‘Dock Connector’ to something entirely different.
Another leak from iLounge: Apple is also working on a link that syncs up iOS 6 with Bluetooth 4. This technology could allow other iOS 6 devices to display messages from your iPhone. Just like Sony’s SmartWatch, your iPod nano could act as a “controller” for your iPhone. It could initiate a call or even display email alerts on it!
Although this technology has not been discussed or confirmed by Apple, we are not sure if it will even hit consumer’s iPhones.
