[News] Pay With Your Smartphone Using ANZ Bank’s goMoney Wallet
From tomorrow, ANZ Bank customers in New Zealand will be able to download the goMoney Wallet app for their Android smartphone and be able to pay for items using Contactless technology!
The goMoney Wallet app is integrated into ANZ Bank’s original Android app which lets you check balances, transfer money and make payments.
ANZ Bank’s Head of Digital Channels and Transformation in NZ said that the number one thing customers wanted from ANZ was a mobile wallet. She also said that the new mobile wallet uses host card emulation technology via NFC and so only newer devices (notably Android 4.4 and above) are supported.
ANZ are also offering zero-liability protection against fraudulent debit and credit transactions for customers using the app. There is a limit of $80 that enables no PIN to be entered when engaging in a contactless transaction. For amounts above $80 a PIN will be required.
ANZ have tested the new wallet with 23 Android smartphones including several new Samsung models, Google Nexus phones, Sony phones and HTC One smartphones.
According to ANZ around 90,000 customers in NZ will be able to use the new goMoney Wallet from tomorrow as they have a compatible smartphone with the goMoney Wallet app installed, and either a Visa debit card, or a credit card issued by the bank itself.
