[News] Facebook Will Soon Remove Chat From its Main App

Facebook will soon be removing the chat function inside its main mobile app, instead forcing its users to download its standalone messaging app. The company claims this will make users’ Facebook experience more streamlined and efficient.

Facebook began notifying users in various countries that in a couple of weeks, they will need to install the standalone messaging app.

“We have built a fast and reliable messaging experience through Messenger and now it makes sense for us to focus all our energy and resources on that experience,” the company said in a statement.

What happened to the good old days when we used to “instant message” using IMAP and SMTP i.e email??
