[News] Google Adds Google Now Assistant to Chrome for Desktop

Google Now Chrome for Desktop

Google Now, the personal assistant predictor by Google, previously only available on Android and iOS, is now making its way over to a PC or Mac near you! Google Now notification cards will soon be available for Chrome for Desktop users on Mac or PC.

Previously, Google Now notifications on Chrome for Desktop were available as a Chrome beta feature which was released in February. Until now, it is now ready to roll out its signature notification cards system to the general release versions of the Chrome for Desktop browser. You can expect your Chrome browser to update within the next few days, or even weeks, starting today, and you should be greeted with a new card-based notification system.

It is automatically enabled when you sign into Chrome for Desktop with the same Google credentials as the one you use for Google Now on either Android or iOS.

You can also manually disable the Google Now notification cards if you wish by clicking on the “bell” or gray “notification” button at the bottom right of your taskbar, then clicking the “gear” button (which is essentially the settings button), then un-checking Google Now as an option. This will disable any Google Now notification on Chrome for Desktop. This will of course only work when you update to the latest version of Chrome for Desktop soon.

If you already use Google Now for Android, you will know how useful and intuitive the interface can be to use. Unfortunately the experience may not be as good over on the iOS version, and for Windows Phone users, you guys can’t even experience it, just yet.

Hopefully the new Google Now feature will be rolled out to all you PC, Mac and Chromebook users very soon!
