[News] Viber Out calling service makes its debut
Viber – an internet telephony company – has officially launched its Viber Out calling service which allows its registered users to make low-cost calls to landlines and mobile phones around the world, all from within one app.
This service is very much like Skype’s in-house calling service where you can purchase credit and use it to call landlines and mobiles around the world at the service provider’s fees. With Viber Out, you can purchase credit via “in-app” purchases either on the Google Play store or the Apple App Store.
Below is a comparison image between Viber Out’s calling fees and Skype’s calling fees:
This service by Viber was first opened and introduced in the Philippines last month in the aftermath of the devastating typhoon that left many friends and families traumatised, and especially overseas relatives wanting to contact their family members and loved ones in the Philippines.
Viber Out gives users the ability to contact and reach anyone, anytime, whether locally or internationally.
“Viber Out gives our millions of users a new way to use Viber and ensures that they can reach any contact at any time,” said Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber.
“We will continue to improve Viber Out, keeping our users connected at the most affordable rates possible.”
Viber Out is available for Android and iOS users, plus people who are using Viber’s desktop app. Viber Out will be rolled out to Windows Phone users very soon says the company.
