The Tesla Model 3 has arrived!
Tesla has delivered its first batch of Model 3s to 30 of its customers at an event held at the Tesla Factory in Fremont, California on Saturday NZT. Elon Musk took to the stage to talk briefly about the Model 3 to an audience comprised mostly of Tesla employees and their friends, as well as directly to the world through a live stream. While Musk is a great innovator, he seemed a bit nervous and amateurish when announcing the delivery of the Model 3s at the event. We’ve included a link to the live stream below.
We managed to test drive the Tesla Model S P100D for a weekend, and was thoroughly impressed by it! Looking at real world pictures of the Model 3 reveal how simplistic it really is, especially the interior. In fact, I think it is a bit too minimalistic for my liking based on first impressions. There is no dashboard, but just the steering wheel (with only two multifunction buttons on it too!) and a 15″ touchscreen display, which a small section of it displays your speedo and ‘dashboard’ gauges. Perhaps a Head Up Display would’ve been a nice touch as right now it seems a bit counter intuitive to turn your head slightly left/right in order to see how fast you are going.
The rear seats seem pretty flat and aren’t moulded down a bit like the Model S. This may cause sliding around a bit in the back seats.
