It’s Almost Time for the 2016 Big Boys Toys Event!
The announcements are coming thick and fast as new and exciting features are added to the Big Boys Toys line-up, 28th – 30th October at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland. For sixteen years, Big Boys Toys has enthralled and entertained over 35,000 people each year with a dynamic entertainment schedule, outstanding features and the latest products from the Automotive, Lifestyle and Consumer Electronics industries. Plus find out at the end of the article how YOU can win yourself one of TWO double-passes to Big Boys Toys!
This year that legacy continues with a sampling of supercars to excite the fans, including the latest announcement: the 2017 Aston Martin DB11, being flown in especially for the event – the first time on show to the public in New Zealand!
That exciting car will be in great company, with two of the world’s latest and greatest supercars headlining the Driven Hall, the Ferrari F12 TDF, and incredible 769bhp, track-ready, V12 monster, and the LaFerrari, a 789-hp V-12 hybrid that gets a 161-hp boost from an electric motor – the first time on show to the public in New Zealand.
And in a first for New Zealand, Land Rover will feature its interactive Terrapod in an indoor demonstration, bringing to life the SUV’s ability to navigate extreme slopes. The hydraulically driven mobile ramps, which can be elevated up to eight metres in height on the Terrapod, create an artificial off road course which allows Land Rover Discovery passengers to experience the full range of the vehicle’s abilities.
The Driven Hall features an incredible array of vehicles from those you can drive home to vehicles you can only dream of owning, including the latest and greatest from Ford, Giltrap Group, Jaguar and Yamaha.
And that’s not all! If you love your vehicles, then check out all the stunning Hot Rods and tools in The Garage and the Automania Showcase will feature an array of vehicles ranging from race cars to street cars, D1NZ to super saloons, exotics to off roaders.
“The lineup of vehicles of all kinds is just stunning,” says event director Dean Wilson. “We’re so excited to be able to get these rare vehicles and to be the first to show them to New Zealand fans at Big Boys Toys,” Dean said.
Seen the cars? Now check out the Milwaukee Action Arena, some of the world’s best extreme sport athletes, world FMX superstar Levi Sherwood, US BMX star – Kurtis Downs and international youtube sensation Kiwi Jed Mildon – the first man in the world to land a quad flip on a BMX.
The Nation Bar comes to Big Boys Toys for the first time, providing a unique Garden Bar atmosphere and an incredible spot to watch the show.
The Lifestyle & Electronics Hall features top quality audio, the latest in laptops, VR Googles, Robots and more from the likes of Harvey Norman, Just Laptops and Playtech.
And the big diggers are back in the Auckland Excavator Operator Champs, and kids have a variety of amusements rides and the chance to be moto-cross stars in the Yamaha Rev Zone.
“From the thrills and spills of the Milwaukee Action Arena to the five big halls of cars, bikes, electronics and products, this show has it all and will be the must-see attraction in Auckland this October,” Dean said.
