The Impressive Huawei P9
Huawei have just launched their flagship smartphone, the Huawei P9 and the Huawei P9 Plus. Now what you and I might have previously thought about the Huawei brand, about it being cheap and non-premium quality phones, are now a thing of the past. The Huawei Mate 8 has certainly changed my thinking around Huawei phones. But that is not what this article is about, let’s get back to the flagship Huawei P9 smartphone.
The Huawei P9 smartphone is actually all about the camera. Huawei partnered with Leica, a German optics manufacturer, to make a dual camera design which utilises Leica optical lenses. The P9 is equipped with a dedicated RGB camera to capture vivid colours and a separate monochrome camera which records all the fine detail surrounding the image. An advanced merging algorithm then combines the two images to create one true, deep image. Huawei have said that the dual-lens technology on the P9 and P9 Plus can capture 300 percent more light than conventional smartphone camera designs.
The Huawei P9 and P9 Plus are crafted from aerospace grade aluminium and the sides are cut just right to perfection.
The P9 is equipped with a high brightness 5.2-inch display and is packed with the new Kirin 955 2.5GHz 64-Bit ARM-based processor. The P9 also has a 3,000mAh high-density battery.
The P9 Plus features a 5.5-inch Press Touch OLED display, and 3,400mAh battery to match. The P9 Plus also offers dual-IC Rapid Charge, giving users up to six hours talk time after a 10-minute charge.
Both phones are equipped with the latest generation USB Type-C reversible connector for efficient charging.
Huawei are also offering their free screen replacement for if you accidentally break your new Huawei device’s screen within a year. Huawei will replace this free of charge providing you register your new phone at: www.huaweiscreenpromise.co.nz
The Huawei P9 and P9 Plus will be available at 2degrees, Spark, and Vodafone stores including all major retailers from June 1. The P9 will cost $1099 and the P9 Plus will cost $1299.
