[News] Nokia Press Conference Set for October 22nd

Nokia Press Conference October 2013

On the subject of events, Nokia has announced that it will have a press conference on the 22nd of October 2013, a few hours before the start of the Apple event! And this may also be one of Nokia’s last press conferences forever as the company may soon be re-branded to Microsoft.

This event will be held in United Arab Emirates, in Abu Dhabi and will begin on Tuesday 22nd of October 2013, at 8PM NZT. Nokia have also announced that this press conference will be live-streamed on its website at conversations.nokia.com.

Of course, here at NZ TechBlog, we will also be live-blogging the event, so if you so happen to be on public transport etc. at the time, and don’t want to waste your data on streaming video, you will be able to have something to read on, and a few pictures to catch a glimpse of what’s happening live, so be sure to bookmark our homepage for the latest updates!

The ‘Nokia World’ event is expected to unveil a few devices with rumours saying that there will be 6 new devices! Most likely of all, they may be announcing their company’s first ever Windows Phone phablet, allegedly called the Lumia 1520! This is rumoured to have a 6-inch, quad-core processor. I guess we will know more about the device/s soon!

And if you are getting a bit tired of hearing new smartphones/tablets being announced, the following may entice you a wee bit more. In addition to Nokia’s upcoming tablets/smartphones, the company may also be introducing a new dedicated music device allegedly called the Nokia Guru! I don’t know too much about this but we shall see next week!

I won’t go too much more into unconfirmed rumours, but if you have something to say about this event, don’t be afraid to leave a comment down below in the comments section; I mean, that’s what they’re there for, right??

Hopefully we’ll see you around next week on our live-blogs, as it sure does seem like it will get busy here next week!
