[News] Panasonic Launches World’s First HDMI 2.0 TV

Panasonic Smart Viera WT600 TV

The IFA2013 expo has kicked off with Panasonic’s press conference talking about a lot of tech and geeky things, but mainly about “Cloud Connectivity”. The company unveiled its lineup of cloud-connected TVs, and also their new Ultra High-Definition (4K) TV which can play at up to 60 frames-per-second!

The new Panasonic Smart Viera WT600 TV is the world’s first TV to have the HDMI 2.0 specification, and is a whopping huge 65-inches! This will mean you will be able to play your 4K content off from your HDMI-connected device straight onto the Panasonic WT600. That is, if you have any 4K content to play!

The 4K image is supported by the 4K Intelligent Frame Creation frame rate conversion technology, which has the ability to visually optimize each object in a scene independently resulting in a near-perfect image for every frame.

The Panasonic Smart Viera WT600 TV also has a built-in HTML 5 web browser meaning you will be able surf the web at the highest resolution available, plus on probably the biggest screen that is in your entire house!

Apart from those features mentioned above, the new TV also has a 2,000 Hz Back Light Scanning, which means it can provide “incredibly high motion sharpness, even in fast action scenes!”

There are also “Pre-set Home Screens” for every individual in the house. This allows each individual to personalise their home screen to display their favourite content from different content providers – both internet and locally broadcast. This is more of a software upgrade as it will be available as a software upgrade/download to other VIERA TV sets starting on the 19th of October.

And as many smart devices these days can be controlled by voice, so can this new Viera TV. This is done through a microphone on the TV’s touchpad controller, or via the Panasonic TV Remote app on your smartphone or tablet.

And of course, it will probably be quite a while before we may even see some light as to when it will be released here in New Zealand, not to mention pricing and availability!

We just like to provide New Zealanders (and maybe some other people around the world) with updates from around the world, for the latest tech products/events etc!
