[News] Facebook Introduces Shared Online Photo Albums

Facebook

Facebook is introducing a Shared Album feature slowly, first to a small group of English-language users before finally becoming available for the rest of its users. The Shared Album feature will allow members to collaborate on shared online photo albums on Facebook.

“A shared album is an album that multiple people can upload photos to,”

Facebook said in an online post explaining the new feature.

“When you make an album shared, you can add your friends as contributors,” the post continued. “This allows them to add, view and edit photos in the album.”

Facebook users could only add photos to their own online albums before, but now they are able to invite as many as 50 friends or family members to collaborate on the photos with them. This allows family members and friends to “bring together” photos from the same events or occasions.

If this post has made the hairs on your back stand up because you think of the privacy issue, then don’t fret. According to Facebook, the privacy settings allow the sharing of albums to only those who contributed or to friends of the contributors as well… Not another false sense of privacy.. again!
