[News] Google Announces All Access for its Play Music Service

Google Play Music All Access

Amongst other things being announced at Google I/O 2013, Google has also announced an update to its Play Music service called “All Access”. All Access allows you to stream unlimited music on its Play Music service fora fixed cost per month; just like rival Spotify.

[UPDATE (18/7/2013): Google Play Music All Access Now Available in New Zealand ]

This service [All Access] lets you stream music over the internet straight to your Android smartphone, tablet or PC (via the internet).

Also updated on the Play Music service is a radio station mode. This mode automatically creates a never-ending playlist of related songs to the one you were just listening to. Unlike other radio stations online (e.g Pandora), this one allows you to remove a song from the playlist; so if you don’t like a song on the playlist, simply swipe to remove it. Simple As!

As well as listening to music stored on the device and listening to a “radio” station, you can also browse by category; new releases, different genres, recommended and more. All you have to do to listen to a track is to hit ‘Listen Now’. You can add the songs to your own library but it is unsure at this stage whether that is made available offline.

Pricing for Google Play Music All Access service costs about NZD12 (USD9.99) but is currently not available to New Zealand or other countries just yet; it has just launched in the US so it should launch in the other countries (including New Zealand) soon. There was also an option to try it out for free for 30-days only. When available in NZ, pricing may be a bit more than the US, so be warned..  😛
