[News] Fujifilm’s New Compact Camera – Fujifilm X100S

Fujifilm X100S

Indulge your artistic creativity with the new Fujifilm X100S – the high-speed successor to the X100 with the world’s fastest AF of 0.08 seconds – a premium compact camera where innovative design meets high performance.

The FujifilmX Series is a range of cameras with award-winning unique style and high performance lenses; all designed with optimum operability in mind. From the premium compact camera, to mirrorless interchangeable systems, the X series is all about achieving the highest image quality and response function.

With its elegant design and high-performance lens, the X100S boasts the unique style and compact camera body of its predecessor the X100, while evolving further with the introduction of a higher-definition Hybrid Viewfinder and a new sensor and processor.

A premium compact camera designed in pursuit of optimum operability, the new Fujifilm X100S offers a newly-developed 16.3 million pixels APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II, which increases resolution by approximately 25% (compared with X100 and conducted in F16) and reduces noise by more than 30% (compared with Fujifilm X100), enabling you to capture high resolution images comparable to those taken on full-frame sensors. And with the removal of the optical low pass filter and powerful processor, the Fujifilm X100S creates a clear image with minimal graininess – even at a high ISO setting.

The newly-developed X-Trans CMOS II sensor also has built-in Phase Detection pixels, creating the world’s fastest AF in as little as 0.08 seconds. Additionally, the EXR Processor II offers fast response times, with a start-up time of approximately 0.5 seconds and a shooting interval of 0.5 seconds. Even better, a shutter time lag is just 0.01 seconds, so you can capture the exact moment you want while maintaining a smooth shooting experience.

For accurate focus without compromise, the new Fujifilm X100S offers the world’s first Digital Split Image feature, which displays dual images on the left and right to be lined up for manual focusing. This feature enables accurate focusing, especially when working with an open aperture or macro shooting. A handy Focus Peak Highlight function, which highlights high contrast areas of your subject, also allows for smoother and more precise fine tuning of focusing.

And choose the way you view your subject and scene with the two viewfinder views offered by the new Fujifilm X100S. The Optical Viewfinder (OVF) allows you to see your subject in the same bright clarity that you see with the naked eye, or when time lag is an issue, while the Electronic viewfinder (EVF) lets you visually check focus, exposure, white balance and depth of field while you compose your shot.

The new Fujifilm X100S (RRP $1999) is available now from leading photo retail stores.
