[News] PDF Reader from Microsoft gets sharing and better file support
The PDF Reader from Microsoft isn’t an application that is automatically installed on Windows Phone 8 OS by default, but is a standalone app that you can install if needed. This app has just gotten a major update, now adding support for read-only and encrypted files…
Getting a PDF document from an email attachment is the most common way to receive one, so now you can open the PDF document directly in PDF Reader. There is also a new “Share” function which allows you to share any of your PDFs with your friends or family easily. When you do want to share a PDF, it will automatically upload that PDF to your Skydrive cloud-storage, and will provide you a link from there.
Here’s the change-log for v1.1:
- Support for read-only PDF files.
- Support for encrypted PDF files that are password protected.
- Share PDF documents with others directly from the app using your SkyDrive account.
- Management of historic PDFs in the history list so you can remove individual files and also clear the whole list.
You can download PDF Reader here, or go to the Windows Store on your phone and ‘update’ it from there if you already have the app.
