The new LG G3 sports a 5.5″ True HD IPS+ display at a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, also known as QHD. This gives us a massive PPI of 534!
Powering this smartphone is a Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.5GHz quad-core Krait 400 processor and an Adreno 330 GPU. There are two variants with different RAM allocations by region – one will have 2GB of RAM and the other will have 3GB of RAM. It is unknown yet whether the NZ version will have how many GB of RAM. Internal storage comes in 16GB and 32GB and will support a microSD card of up to 128GB.
The camera features a 13MP sensor with OIS and LG’s laser auto-focus which measures the distance to the object and is able to speed up the auto-focus process by a few milliseconds compared to other smartphones.
Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC and an IR blaster are also included in the connectivity side of the phone.
Also like its predecessor the LG G2, the LG G3 also has the rear-mounted volume controls for easier use of the buttons.
The LG G3 also comes in the following colours: Metallic Black, Shine Gold, Silk White, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red.
When we are able to get our hands on a review unit, we will do a full review of the LG G3 then.
